Dr. El Hamichi-Potamkin specializes in medical and surgical diseases of the vitreous, retina and macula. She earned her ophthalmology residency and medical degrees at the University Mohammed V in Morocco. After that, she completed a research fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. She then completed a medical retina and ocular oncology fellowship at Murray Ocular Oncology and Retina in Miami, before deciding to continue her training as a vitreoretinal surgeon at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. El Hamichi-Potamkin has published dozens of articles in peer-reviewed journals in the field of Ophthalmology. She also serves as reviewer for multiple scientifically indexed journals.
Dr. El Hamichi-Potamkin speaks fluent English, Arabic, and French. She is also able to have conversational interaction in Spanish with patients. She is dedicated to providing the best care for her patients and helping them restore their vision. Dr. El Hamichi-Potamkin is also interested in research and improving the field of Ophthalmology.
Outside of caring for patients, Dr. El Hamichi-Potamkin enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She also enjoys painting, swimming, and traveling.
