Eye Centers of Florida Welcomes Carmen Wilson, M.D.
Ophthalmologist to Serve Immokalee Area Full Time
Carmen Wilson, M.D. has joined Eye Centers of Florida, the largest and most experienced eye care practice in Southwest Florida. Dr. Wilson will practice full time at the Eye Centers of Florida Immokalee office located at 1320 N. 15th St., Immokalee, FL 34142.
In keeping with the patient needs of this region, Dr. Wilson and many of the staff members in the Immokalee office speak both Spanish and English. Dr. Wilson will provide comprehensive eye exams, eye health management for patients with chronic conditions and/or on high-risk medications, and detection and treatment of diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration and pterygium.
Born in Malaga, Spain, Dr. Wilson was raised in the Bronx, New York. She attended Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. She completed an internship at New York Downtown Hospital and a residency at New York Medical College, where she served as Chief Resident at Westchester County Medical Center. Dr. Wilson returned to Atlanta where she joined Morehouse Medical Associates. During that time, she joined the faculty at Morehouse School of Medicine and simultaneously earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research. She has published articles in numerous publications and presented at local and international meetings.
Dr. Wilson has participated in numerous medical mission trips in underserved communities in Brazil, Haiti, Turks and Caicos, and Jamaica. Dr. Wilson most recently worked in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
